Academic Programs

Tondro University offers two graduate programs through the Office of Admissions: the Master of Science in Data Science and the Master of Business Administration.

MS in Data Science — Program Overview

The Master of Science in Data Science is a full-time, on-campus program. It is offered in one format only; there is no part-time or evening option.

Length and Structure

The program consists of 36 credit hours. It is structured as three consecutive terms, completed in 18 months.

Curriculum

The curriculum consists of core courses in statistical methods, machine learning, and data engineering, followed by elective courses in an applied concentration such as business analytics or computational science.

Capstone

Students complete a capstone project in their final term. The capstone is an applied project, sponsored by a faculty member or an industry partner, and is completed individually rather than in a team.

Delivery

All MS in Data Science courses are taught in person at the Tondro University campus. There is no online or hybrid section of this program.

MBA — Program Overview

The Master of Business Administration is offered in two formats: full-time and part-time (evening). Both formats lead to the same degree and require the same number of credit hours.

Length and Structure

The program consists of 54 credit hours in both formats. The two formats differ in pace:

  • Full-time. Two years across four terms, including one required summer term between the first and second year. Daytime class schedule.
  • Part-time (evening). Three years across six terms, with no required summer term. Evening class schedule, designed for students who work during the day.

Curriculum

Core coursework covers finance, marketing, operations, and strategy, and is the same across both formats. Students choose an elective concentration in their second year (full-time) or final year (part-time, evening).

Capstone

Students in both formats complete a strategic consulting capstone project in their final term. Capstone teams work with a sponsoring organization on a live business problem; the team composition and sponsoring-organization process are the same for both formats.

Format Availability by Applicant Type and Term

Which format and term an applicant can apply to depends on applicant type — see Application Deadlines and Term Start Dates.
